(Jan 29, 2026 Suva)– The Housing Authority (the Authority) has taken significant steps towards advancing housing development with the signing of the Additional Civil Works Contract for the
Davuilevu and Nepani Subdivisions.
The contract signing for Davuilevu with Kumar’s Limited formalises the award of civil infrastructure works required to support ongoing and future housing development at the Davuilevu site. These works will lay the foundation for serviced residential lots and future housing construction within the
subdivision.
The scope of the contract includes civil infrastructure works only, such as land preparation, road and access works, stormwater drainage, water reticulation, sewer reticulation, as well as associated environmental and testing works. The contract does not include the construction of houses.
Construction is expected to commence following site handover, which is anticipated within a week or two subject to the approval of all pre-commencement documentation. The contract period is approximately 8.3 months.
The civil works will support the development of serviced residential lots and include earth platform preparation for model homes. The construction of approximately 300 model homes will be
undertaken under a separate building contract, to be implemented at a later stage.
Housing Authority Chief Executive Officer Mr Isikeli Navuda said the signing of the additional civil works contract for the Davuilevu Subdivision marks an important step in delivering essential
infrastructure to support future housing development.”
For the Nepani Subdivision, Mr Navuda said the Housing Authority also reached an important milestone with the signing of a contract agreement with BW Holdings, allowing for Phase 2 civil
works to move forward.
He said the agreement is another step closer to providing safe and well-serviced residential lots and homes. The Phase 2 works will include water supply and water connections, sewer works,
stormwater drainage, road construction, concreting of shared access roads, and power supply.
These works will improve the subdivision and make sure future residents have access to basic services and better living conditions. Mr Navuda added that Housing Authority acknowledges the continued support from the Water
Authority of Fiji (WAF), Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) and Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) and looks forward to working closely with them during these additional civil works.
The Authority remains committed to providing safe, affordable, and sustainable housing solutions for Fijians through strategic infrastructure development and partnerships.
