A total of 860 potential home owners turned out at the Housing Authority booth to fill out property demand forms for housing at different upcoming sub-divisions around the central division.
This was confirmed by chief executive officer, Alipate Naiorosui.
During the Fiji Showcase 2011, the Housing Authority received over four thousand people at their booth to enquire about its home loan product, the status of different developments and also about refinancing options.
“This year Housing Authority came out in a big way at the Fiji Showcase as a means of creating a greater awareness of what we do, it was also an opportunity for us to renew our relationship with existing customers who had questions about their accounts”, said Alipate Naiorosui.
Approximately sixty six percent of all potential home owners who filled out the property demand form were between the ages of 21 to 45 followed by applicants and majority preferred to purchase a land and housing package as apposed to land only.
The Tacirua East Stage 2 sub-division received the most interest being the development that will produce the first 67 lots by the end of the year with more expected next year.
This sub-division is expected to produce approximately 1050 singular lots in total once completed and the new community will boast both land and housing packages for all types of families and have fully developed residential, civic, religious and commercial lots ranging from 220 to 1000 square meters.
The contractor, China Railway First Group Company Limited is expected to take 44 months in total to complete the land, infrastructure and housing construction however home owners can begin to move into Tacirua East stage 2 at the completion of each phase. Phase 1B is expected to produce 67 residential lots by the end of December, 2011.
Naiorosui further added, “that it was encouraging to note that majority of those that visited our two booths at the Fiji Showcase came through to check their home loan eligibility”.
