A $0.4 million has been approved to finance renovation and upgrading works to 27 houses on Maloloisland.

The loan was lodged by the MataqaliKetenamasi of Yaro village on Maloloisland under the Village Housing Scheme from Housing Authority.

Housing Authority chief executive officer Alipate Naiorosui said, “The loan is to allow the Yaro community to renovate 27 houses located in the village alongside upgrading works to the church building”.

The houses were initially financed by Housing Authority in 1982 under the Village Housing Scheme and was fully paid off in 2005 reflecting the Mataqali’s ability to meet their repayments.
